The title should be "The Fastest Bird".
The Peregrine Falcon holds the record for the fastest bird, and indeed, the fastest animal on Earth.
It achieves its incredible speeds during its hunting dive, also known as a stoop. While soaring or in level flight, a peregrine falcon typically reaches speeds of 40 to 55 mph (64 to 88 km/h). However, when it enters its stoop to hunt, it can reach speeds exceeding 200 mph (320 km/h). Some recorded stoops have even approached 240 mph (386 km/h).
The falcon's body structure, including its aerodynamic%20feathers and specially adapted nostrils (which control airflow during the dive), contribute to its ability to withstand and control these extreme speeds.
